Video on the battle of Bukit Chandu(Pasir Panjiang)
27 02 2008The amine video above was taken from you-tube,the link is available here. The video above are about Adnan Bin Saidi,a great hero who fight the Japanese attack to the very end.Till now, his last words "DEATH, BEFORE DISHONOUR..." to his man was deeply planted in the Malays.
From this quote,we can infer that Lieutenant Adnan was well respected by his troops. We know this as the video stated that they was left with no other choice but to fight till the end. However, none of the soldiers show any signs of opting out of the battle.
Thus,we can infer that the soldiers respect him and took all his words to heart. In this video, we saw the determined spirit in the Malay regiment that were lead by Lieutenant Adnan. Although they had insufficient food and ammunition, they had the will to fight for Singapore despite the enemies attack. Although Adnan bin Saidi were shot,he still did his very best to defence Pasir Panjang Ridge. But,the battle was still lost to the Japanese. After the battle, the wounded Adnan was taken prisoner by Japanese soldiers, who tied him to a rubber tree and bayoneted him to death.
This actions had left him in history, he was considered by the Malaysians and Singaporeans of today as a hero.
