The video above is taken from :http://youtube.com/watch?v=JfpjjopDC3M

From the video,we know that Elizabeth choy played a great part in helping the British.
Although she is female, she carry out actions like passing supplies such as water to
the British internees and refusing to admit to the Japanese
soldiers that she helped the British. I know this as the video shows a
short part of her been tortured by Japanese soldiers using electric shock.
She had passed away in her late 90s.It is a great loss
of heroines in Singapore. From the video,we know that
Elizabeth Choy is a woman that care and think about others.
I had quoted a short sentance from her speech in the video.
The sentence is useful and meaningful.Elizabeth Choy said  that ”
If there is no war,the Japanese will be just like me.
They will be at home with their family members, doing their
own peaceful jobs.Let us pray that they would not be any war
again.” We can see that she care for
even the Japanese.A mind-set like her should
be pass down to other such as youngster.
Also, the video show us that a war can reveal many
hidden talents in people.

From the information given in the source above,we know that other than soldiers, another woman of that time contributed a lot to the needy people during the Japanese Occupation. I know this as the information said that “Elizabeth Choy and her husband secretly brought food, medicine, money, messages and even radios to British internees.” This tells us that she risk herself in order to give supplies to Britsh internees despite getting caught. Thus, this tells us that Elizabeth Choy is the first woman in Singapore to become a heroine. We should all respect her as her bravery could not be found nowadays.

Picture of men from the malay regiment

 taken from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Malay_Regiment

This picture of  the Men of the Malay Regiment, recruited from local native volunteers, at bayonet practice on Singapore Island, October 1941.

From the picture,we can infer that the soldiers of the Malay Regiment are mainly made up of volunteers.I know this as the caption under the picture said that “the Men of the Malay Regiment, recruited from local native volunteers were recruited from local native volunteers.” This tells me that the regiment is strong as the men that forms up the regiment were volunteers as they want to protect their own country. This explains why the Malay Regiment had a fierce battle against the Japanese and refuse to give up till the very end.

Also, the picture shows the soldiers from malay regiment praticising. This shows that the soldiers are keen to defence their own country. We can also see that the Soldiers of the malay regiment are very united and have a strong team spirit. We know this as the picture show them practising TOGETHER.
