Sequence of the presentation
6 07 2008I think I’ll post briefly what the presentation will be like on wednesday in case some of us do not know. After discussing about ideas from sunarsih, derek, Nicholas and Julia,we came up with a plan.
Julia is in charge of making the powerpoint and Derek and sunarsih is in charge of the new blog which will contains all the posts that we had.For the rest of us, we shall post comments at the discussion board, but since we do not have one, i had created a new one.
I hope that we can post suggestions and ideas on how we can present our oral presentation.
Please post comments under this blog post.Even one will do.
I would like to ask all of you whether we should present the documentary first or in the middle of the presentation? Or should it be better if we present the powerpoint slides first , then our blog and lastly our documentary?
This are just some suggestions that I made so please reply and tell me if any of you had better ideas or agree with me.Thanks!
I think we should present the powerpoint slides first, followed by the documentary and than our blog.
Or maybe we should present the documentary first so that it is much more interesting and it can get the attention of the audience.
Here are some tips for the presentation. Shall I post this in a new post?
1.Don’t abuse your visuals- Keep the presentation simple, and keep it short, not too many words. The audience isn’t there to read from your slides. Write in point-form instead.
2.Look at the audience-Looking at your audience to engage the audience, as well as getting more attention from them.
3.Make them laugh- Even if you are there to educate the audience, you also need to make them laugh. This alerts the audience more. They can even learn more.
4.Talk to your audience, not at them- The easiest way to do this is to ask them questions.
5.Show some movement- this makes the audience more engaged.
6. LImit the number of slides- If you have too many slides, you will rush to get through them. The audience might pay more attention to the changing of slides than what you are saying.
7.Slow Down- Slow your speech down and pause for emphasis,
8.“That’s a Good Question”- You can use statements like “that’s a really good question,” or “I’m glad you asked me that,”. While saying this, you may be able to reorganise your response.
This tips are good, you should post them!
