I’m just typing out a brief script for the presentation.

We need the roles allocations for our documentary and our project work so i found the links to it:

Draft 2 of the sequence of our presentation

This will be the sequence of our presentation if everything goes well and there’s no objection.

1) Powerpoint slides:

  • Introduction of the task we are been set/question we are answering.
  • Problems we had encountered and how we solve them.
  • Roles allocation for pw and documentary. Present on our own roles.
  • Start story of process. ( Brief intro of how we show the process of our question.)
  • Talk about documentary.(Part by part.)
  • Back to powerpoint slides
  • present on why we didn’t choose elizabeth choy or other heroes in our documentary. 
  • Introduction about Adnan Bin saidi(mindmap.)(short part only.)
  • Reflections, group and individual.

Things to take note of:

 When presenting

  • try not to read from script. (try to read one or two sentences before reading out loud to the audience)
  • When explaining scene selection, please remind the person that is controlling the video to stop on the scene.
  • Must be loud and clear.(how you speak or present are counted as your individual marks.)

  




Sequence of the presentation

I think I’ll post briefly what the presentation will be like on wednesday in case some of us do not know.After discussing about ideas from sunarsih, derek, Nicholas and Julia,we came up with a plan.

Julia is in charge of making the powerpoint and Derek and sunarsih is in charge of the new blog which will contains all the posts that we had.For the rest of us, we shall post comments at the discussion board, but since we do not have one, i had created a new one.

I hope that we can post suggestions and ideas on how we can present our oral presentation.

Please post comments under this blog post.Even one will do.

I would like to ask all of you whether we should present the documentary first or in the middle of the presentation? Or should it be better if we present the powerpoint slides first , then our blog and lastly our documentary?

This are just some suggestions that I made so please reply and tell me if any of you had better ideas or agree with me.Thanks!

hey people! i would like to remind you that we have to finish up at least chapter FIVE.
For Julia, i would like to see your questions for chapter one to five by tomorrow. Is that possible?
For derek, i’ll pass you the storyboard for chapter two. you go on to chapter three first. if you need help, just text me.
For nicholas, i have yet to see your post. maybe you could post about chapter one to five by tomorrow?
For kang ling, improve on explaining about the quotes. the meanings you gave so far are very obvious and easy. if you need any help, feel free to approach me.
For wei hoon, you have done well so far. only that some words are not explained clearly. you have posted vocab meanings for chapter one until three. go on to chapter 4 and 5.

to the rest of you, I guess you have to catch up. i would like to see posts done by each of you on your own roles from chapter one until five by tomorrow. anyone who have difficulty in doing so, text or call my handphone number. thank you!

I hope all of you should have seen the previous post regarding our holiday assignment,so please choose the role that you want to be in charge of as soon as possible!

Derek and I had chosen our roles respectively: PLOT MAPPER ,VOCAB WIZARD.

The remaining roles left are discussion leader, character tracker,questioner and quote picker.

HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT!

This is the english assignment that we are supposed to do during the holiday.This piece of inoformation is taken from ayuni’s group’s blog as miss lim have not posted the assignment yet.

Note that this assignment is counted as part of our  CA1!So let’s all do a good job!

IMPORTANT: Holiday Assignment will be COUNTED as part of your CA1 for Term 3 (20%)

Instructions:

a) You will be doing this in your project group. Each group will assign one ROLE for EACH MEMBER to focus on.

b) Every member’s contribution will be IMPORTANT, just like your project work and MARKS will be assigned based on EVERYONE’S work and contribution.

YOU are to POST your WORK here in this blog.  Make sure each POST has a CATEGORY added which shows YOUR GROUP NAME or NUMBER!

c) Assign the following roles for each person in group:

Questioner: To come up with interesting DISCUSSION QUESTIONS for the chapters in the book, especially questions like “What does this tell us about…….” or “Why do you think…..”

Vocab Wizard: To pick out IMPORTANT or DIFFICULT WORDS in the chapter and explain what it means to the group. This SHOULD NOT BE just copied from dictionary BUT MUST be EXPLAINED in relation to the TEXT! You can be creative in your explanation and use PHOTOS or DRAWINGS or CLIP ART to explain the meanings clearly.

Plot Mapper: To mindmap or storyboard IMPT PARTS of the story BY USING THE elements of a NARRATIVE like: Trigger Event, Sequence of IMPORTANT EVENTS/ACTIONS ( this must be linked in terms of CAUSE and EFFECT throughout the chapters), PROBLEM/CONFLICT

Quote Picker: To pick out IMPT QUOTES from chapters and start a discussion about the meaning and significance of the quote to the story like development of plot, character, or theme

Character Tracker: To identify important characters in each chapter and track the development of the character though the chapters through what character says or does and what other character says about this him/her. You must explain what it tells YOU about the character like the personality. The most IMPT CHARACTERS to FOCUS ON will be :Scout, Atticus, Jem, Bill, Calpurnia, Tom Robinson, Mayella Ewell, Bob Ewell, and Boo Radley

Discussion Leader: To check and read through other members work and come up with interesting ideas to discuss based on what other members post or based on your own reading. Focus on THEMES in the story: COURAGE, INTEGRITY, PREJUDICE, RACISM etc

d) All work must be done ONLINE in the languagearts blog and every post MUST BE CLEARLY TAGGED with the name of the person who posted it. The TAGS box is just below the TEXT box where you type.

e) You are given BONUS MARKS for using online tools like Toondoo, Comic Life, online mindmapping and Voicethread etc

f) The work above MUST BE DONE BASED ON Chapters 1 – 10

g) Like your PROJECT WORK, you need to post regularly and comment /discuss regularly if you want to SCORE. You know how important the marks are to you BY NOW, so do work hard. Anyone with NO INTERNET ACCESS, you CAN use the SCHOOL LIBRARY COMPUTERS, so I won’t accept any excuses.

Presentation when school reopens

Dearest group members,

I hope all of you are glad that our editing for our documentary is done. However, we still have our presentation and documentary to present when school reopens.I’m not very sure what the presentation will be on,but i hope that some of us can edit the current one.Maybe the slides are on what we had done and learnt or what we had encountered during the process that we had gone through.

I hoped that some of you can reply to this post so that I can know what we are going to do for our presentation slides.Interaction in this project work blog will also contributes to our marks for july. Let’s work hard by giving comments daily or twice a week!
